Caring for your bouquet

Unwrap your flowers and remove any wet wrapping around the stems. Cut the stems about 3cm on an angle and ensure you strip off any foliage that will sit below the waterline. Place into a vase of fresh water. Keep refilling your vase every couple of days, Flowers are thirsty! Recut the stems when refilling water. And for extra long lasting blooms dip stems into boiling water for 30 seconds before placing back into your vase!

Caring for your arrangement

If you have flowers that are arranged in a container or box with floral foam, keep topping it up with water every couple of days. A drink bottle is great for this, pour a small amount into the centre of the flowers, taking care not to flood the container in the process. Remove any dead and wilted flowers and foliage each day and replace with bits from the garden if you wish to enjoy your flower arrangement for as long as possible.

Keep flowers out of direct sunlight and away from fresh fruit and vegetables which contain ethylene that causes flowers to wilt and wither away much faster.
